“You boarded this merchant ship, The Ganymede, as guards several weeks ago; although your patron, Merner Greatpot, and the captain, Houston Zindo, expect no such pirate activity for you to protect against. And so far, they have been correct. The only worry you all have has been how to remove the lingering taste of salt pork from your mouths – the fine wine, in celebration of the maiden voyage, has almost ran out. Unfortunately, the captain expects the journey to take another week.”

To kill this time, the party engaged with the crew of The Ganymede. A pirate gambler challenged Nik-Nak to a secret game of jacks, well below deck, in the cargo hold (he wasn’t supposed to be gambling). Despite the gambler’s skill (at cheating), Nik-Nak’s luck won him the game (and several fake coins). Phantiyun takes note of the ship, while Sir Gwenwyn guards the captains door.

In the crow’s nest, Phosrus talks to Farnell, the lookout; an old, grizzled pirate who is all business. But, after a while, they find a way to stay on the business of lookout while also having fun (playing “I Spy”). That is when a strange ship is spotted over the horizon – and evasive maneuvers begin.

Around the last day of the week, a fog rolls in, and the maneuvers bring The Ganymede closer and closer to shore. This eventually causes the ship to collide with some rocks, and everyone is thrown overboard! Phosrus quickly holds Fernell tightly.

Everyone awakes on the shore of a small strip of beach that quickly turns into a forest.

The gambling crewmate dies, but our party, the captain, some other crewmates, and Farnell, survive, and begin building shelter from the salvaged wood of The Ganymede, as well as what cloth and leaves and sticks they can gather. Phosrus is given a locket from Fernell, as he saved his life. Phosrus then begins using their command of flame to help build campfires.

Houston, the foppish captain, already seems to be put back together (with eye makeup included). He tries to talk to Phantiyun, despite her continually hiding her face; he insists that the party hunt some game while the remains of his crew continue making shelter. She agrees, finding Sir Gwenwyn on the outskirts of the beach after gathering the others.

Phosrus has traveled far, and knows how to survive in the wilderness, so they lead the party through the forest looking for tracks. When they find them, it leads to a small stream with a large bird drinking from it. But this bird seems to be a pack animal – it has a saddle and several bags on it. What they don’t notice is the Lizardfolk who sneaks up on them!

He’s a hulking Lizard-man; he pushes Phosrus out of the way, and punches the helmet off Sir Gwenwyn. Terror flashes before the eye of the knight - it is revealed that he is….a teenage boy, and he doesn’t seem as comfortable as he should in a combat scenario.

Regardless, Sir Gwenwyn challenges the Lizardfolk to a dual, with he ignores. An attack from Phantiyun causes the Lizardman to attack her. He rips her shield out of her arms, while continually screaming war cries; raining the party in lizard-spit. The smell of his breath reeks of carrion.

The pack animal charges Sir Gwenwyn, and tries to trample him, to no avail. Similarly, Nik-Nak has tried to cast powerful magics but has failed each time. He concentrates hard...”This one has to hit!” he desperately thinks. His concentration of the weave bursts forth missiles of magic, slamming into the Lizardman’s back.

In a rage, the Lizardman turns to charge Nik-Nak. He gets closer and closer, with Phosrus, Sir Gwenwyn, and Phantiyun attacking him while vulnerable – adding their own powerful magics with fire and smites. Just as the Lizardman nears Nik-Nak, he collapses, and his pack bird dies soon after.

The party finds lots of loot on the two, but it is obvious from goods and paperwork that they have killed a member of the Green Scale Caravan. When they return to the beach, Houston confirms this, and lets them know that nothing good can come from this. But they have to get rid of evidence – so they tie stones to the Lizardman’s body and toss him into the ocean, while the bird is prepped for cooking.

The party eats some fish and rations while Nik-Nak forges a document, like the one he found, but with his name on it (and a higher percent of cut from sales of his goods to help make it sound official). He tops off the forgery with a fine copy-cat embossment, curtesy of his carving skills.

That night, a stinky, cowardly kobold is found sneaking around camp by Phantiyun. After waking the party, and interrogating the thing, they decide to have it take them to “his house”. It leads the party in circles, before getting away immediately after being let down from the scruff-hold it was in. They now realize that they are lost.

But, due to Phosrus’ wilderness instinct, they manage to make it back to camp, and begin preparing for a new day.
